I had such a wonderful time capturing Katie and Mike’s August wedding at The Ryland Inn. Katie and Mike were married in front of their family and friends at St. Brigid Church in Gladstone, NJ. Shortly after their ceremony, we traveled to Natirar Park for their portraits. It was the perfect place to photograph this beautiful couple who opted to include their labradoodle, Baylor, in some of their pictures. As a dog lover myself, I was so happy to photograph their sweet and furry family member. Katie looked so elegant in her Jim Hjelm wedding dress and I loved how she wore her mother’s veil for her ceremony and some of her portraits with Mike. Katie’s bridesmaids wore classic grey Jenny Yoo dresses and carried bouquets of baby’s breath. After our time spent at Natirar Park we headed to The Ryland Inn just in time for the start of their outdoor cocktail hour. Guests enjoyed champagne, signature drinks and delicious food. As the sun began to set, guests were escorted into the reception area in order to enjoy the rest of their night. Vali Entertainment started the party and kept it going all night long. I absolutely loved capturing Katie and Mike’s wedding day!

They visited a few Greek islands on their journey, but opted to have their honeymoon session in Santorini. This picturesque island couldn’t have made for a better backdrop for these two lovebirds. Danielle and Sam flew in from San Francisco for their July engagement session. Danielle is a city girl as she grew up here and she knew from the very beginning of her wedding planning process that she wanted to hold her engagement session with Sam in Central Park. So after a few days of rain and crazy weather, we were greeted with a beautiful and mild summer day. Their session took place in the morning when the light was luminous and the park was quiet. I had a wonderful time getting to know Danielle and Sam and capturing their special connection. I can’t wait to capture their autumn city wedding this October!

xoxo

Brooklyn weddings always make me happy! They truly have a coolness factor that is always off the charts. I have been wanting to photograph at the Brooklyn Winery for quite some time and it was definitely meant to be when my high school friend Mike {aka the groom} reached out to me to see if I was interested in capturing his special day with his beautiful bride, Courtney.

Courtney and Mike were married on July 5th in front of their closet family and friends. The weather was beautiful and the city was quiet. Courtney and Mike envisioned their wedding day to be rustic, romantic and filled with sweet personal details. Brooklyn Winery was the perfect location to bring their vision to life. This venue was very organic with long wooden farm tables and succulents that ran up the walls. Large windows provided the ceremony and reception room with gorgeous natural light. Courtney started her day at their apartment where she was surrounded by her lovely bridesmaids, mom and grandmother. Rubi Jones worked her magic on Courtney’s hair and Jackie Schneider amplified Courtney’s beauty with a natural make up look. Courtney looked radiant in her Sarah Seven dress and I especially loved her pale blue Rachel Simpson shoes. She also accessorized her dress with a stunning piece by Twigs and Honey. Courtney’s bridesmaids wore navy, swiss dot J. Crew dresses and their whole look was tied together with lavender colored roses and white dahlias created by Opalia Flowers. Courtney and Mike opted for a first look and  they really wanted to walk around their neighborhood for their portraits. My favorite part of their portraits was when they took me to their favorite pizza place in Williamsburg called Best Pizza. They were hungry and being the ultra cool couple that they are, they decided to share a slice.

After Courtney and Mike’s heartfelt ceremony, guests enjoyed a delicious sit down dinner. The reception decor complimented the venue perfectly. Candelabras and teal colored mason jars filled with baby’s breath lined the tables. I especially loved the whimsical feel of each dinner plate and Courtney & Mike’s cake was a naked cake designed by Momofuku. After dinner, the dance floor opened up and guests danced to the wonderful music of The National Reserve. The energy on the dance floor was infectious and everyone had such an incredible time. I absolutely loved capturing Courtney and Mike’s stunning affair!
