I genuinely love newborn sessions. I really, really do. I enjoy meeting new families and working with them to create special memories with their littlest family member that they will cherish forever. I had a wonderful time hanging out with Raisa, Jeff and their little man, Michael last month. He is the perfect addition and I’m so grateful I had the chance to capture this precious milestone.
Simple is always better when it comes to newborn photography. I prefer a natural and understated approach to my newborn work. I want the images to be timeless just like my wedding work so I prefer my clients to wear something they would normally wear and that their babies are outfitted in just a diaper or a simple white onesie. I prefer the baby to mold into their own positions and there is always plenty of time for feedings and diaper changes. The key is patience and having a calm energy around the new family. My sessions are fairly long {about 3 hours}, but that’s because newborns are unpredictable and I won’t leave my client’s home until I feel as if I captured enough to tell their story.
