Thank you Martha Stewart Weddings for featuring Regina and Jack’s beautiful wedding day!
Not wanting to choose between England (Jack’s home country) and Switzerland (Regina’s) for their special day, Regina and Jack decided to host a destination wedding in Tuscany at Conti di San Bonifacio wine resort. On a sunshine-filled September day {exactly one year after they got engaged}, the two celebrated with 52 of their nearest and dearest. Regina and Jack teamed up with the talented ladies of Chic Weddings in Italy and Tommaso Torrini of La Rosa Canina in order to bring their vision to life. Countryside elegance would be the best way to describe their wedding and the color pallet made up of french grey, cream, butter and sage fit perfectly with the Tuscan landscape.
Regina and Jack made their marriage official under a hanging flower installation that mimicked a hanging arch and moved beautifully (& effortlessly} in the wind. After Regina’s father walked her down the aisle to Alphaville’s acoustic version of “Forever Young,” Regina joined Jack for the officiant’s welcome and the guitarist’s unplugged version of Natalie Cole’s “L.O.V.E.” Regina’s brother Florian read Bob Marley’s “He’s Not Perfect,” and Jack’s brother Will recited “Marriage Is Madness,” by an unknown author. After Regina and Jack exchanged rings and shared their first kiss as husband and wife, they walked back up the aisle to Michael Bublé’s “Everything” while guests tossed olive leaves on them. It was a magical and sweet moment!
After the ceremony, the newlyweds joined me in a nearby olive grove for portraits and their adorable French Bulldog, Muki, joined in on the fun as well. After pictures, Regina and Jack joined loved ones for fun and festivities. Guests were at the villa’s poolside for cocktails, lawn games, appetizers and live music from the band Lady Dillinger. After cocktail hour, guests were escorted to the front of the wine resort’s property for dinner. The newlyweds cozied up in a loveseat—a bench marked by a garland and “Forever Young” signage. Soft candlelight flickered from glass votives, both low and high, with some perched on stone candlesticks. Rustic wood table numbers were nestled between antique chests and small potted arrangements for an informal but intentional effect. As the sun went down guests dined underneath the stars and according to Regina, “it was truly special having dinner outside.”
I am so lucky to have been able to capture Regina and Jack’s wedding day. It was an exquisite affair that I’ll remember forever! Thank you for having me along.
